Question:

what is air circulation in boilers

what is air circulation in boilers

Answer:

not real sure
by giving it air circulation you get a hoter fire
Air is necessary for there to be oxygen for combustion. That amount of air is calculated from the rate at which the fuel is to be introduced and the temperature or burning rate desired. Excess air is added to assure that there is enough. Some air is introduced under the grating of coal-fired boilers for cooling that iron , some is introduced over the fire. The hot products of combustion rise inside the furnace and discharge through the stack. The tall stack will induce some negative pressure to help draw the gasses and smoke out. Some boilers have forced draft fans to introduce the combustion air into the combustion chamber plus induced draft fans to help pull the combustion products out of the boiler assembly and into the stack. The fans are necessary because of resistances to air flow caused by heat exchangers and dust collectors of the boiler assembly which are outside of the combustion chamber, itself.
