you're correct, the batts will be in the way and just make a huge mess for you if you try and blowIf the batts are compressed and not filling the wall cavity, they are doing very little anyways as far as r value is concerned, you never pack insulation because the r-value drops if it is not fluffed in the cavity Your better bet would be to have the walls injected in the same way with expanding closed cell foam, as it will find ts way into all the crevices as it expands that blown insulation can't.
