what is better a 7 ply skate board or aluminum deck? Is aluminum easier to break or less likely or is it stronger?
I think steel or something stronger than aluminum would be best.
aluminum is more durable and almost the same weight. BUT....I don't think they pop as good and I don't think they are as easy to controll in the air with your feet. I also have grown accustumed to they way the board feels when it flexes and you lose that flex with the alluminum boards. So landing on a rail to do a boardslide is abrupt and sudden where the wooden board absorbs some of the shock from the rail and makes the air-to-rail transition alot smoother. I also think it is easier to land on a wooden deck when you drop from a great height and do not have alot of forward momentum. but the alluminum boards do last longer and stand bigger impacts I have only owned one single alluminum board though. maybe listen to somebody who uses alluminum as their main favorite board
