Question:

What is "classic" Key Lime Pie to you?

This is the recipe I used: 1/2 cups finely crushed graham crackers (20 squares) 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted 3 tablespoons sugar 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup Key lime juice 1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed 1. Heat oven to 350°F.

Answer:

Yes it's common and you can only get limes disease from a deer tick. If a red sort of target ring forms I would see your doctor right away
I've had plenty of ticks from working or playing outside. Not every tick automatically has some horrible disease. Dogs can carry rabies, but most dog bites don't get people sick. The animal or parasite has to carry a disease to get you sick. For future reference, do NOT twist the tick off. Use a pair of tweezers to grab the head of the tick and slowly pull it out. If you grab the body, it will just yank it off and leave the head to regrow. If you twist it, the grip it has on the skin could result in an infection. Some people swear by nail polish to suffocate the nasty little things, but I've personally never had luck with that. Dogs and cats are tick bait. Pets need to be sprayed and have collars to keep the number of the parasites down. A pet python I had as a child had ticks too, so I think anything with blood (not fish) should be able to carry the pests. If you're worried about getting sick, just watch the area where the tick was. If it was bitten by a diseased tick, you should be able to see the skin around it affected before it becomes dangerous. Watch for red skin or an inflamed or swollen appearance of the skin. If you see that, or a clear infection from the injured skin, then go in. If everyone that got a tick bite got Lime disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, we'd all be in really bad shape. I don't know a single person that's never had a tick bite. If you're getting two each time you go out, you might want to spray your yard though. And give the dog a tick bath and a collar. Any pet store will have collars for the dog (for the size of the dog and length of fur) and they'll probably be able to tell you the best thing to use on the yard. Cut your grass too. Tall grass makes things so much worse.
if it was a deer tick you could possibly get limes disease. i have a friend who got limes disease, and once you get it, it never really leaves your body. so if you start feeling sick, just go to the doctor.
