what makes light travel faster than any other thing? does dimmer light travel slower than bright light? how come in far distance, we see bright light better than dim light? Is laser light? Does laser travel at the same speed as light? thanks
Like travels fastest because that's the way it is. It has no mass, illuminating air-resistance. Light is variations of electromagnetic radiation. More simply: wavelengths. It maybe/a little/kind of like sound waves. The speed of light is always the same. If you were driving in a car at 30 miles an hour, and suddenly switched your head-lights on while driving, the light's speed wouldn't be (Speed of Light) + 30 miles an hour. You cannot add to, or deduct from the speed of light. It is always the same. Light doesn't travel faster the brighter it gets. Neither does it travel slower the dimmer it gets. It's the same wavelengths, all the time, going at the same speed, all the time. To give you an idea on the speed of light: In one second, light can travel about 7 times around the earth. From the sun, 2 minutes. Like say, if the sun were to explode, we'd see it explode 2 minutes after it actually did. Good Luck! :D
what makes light travel faster than any other thing? -- I don't think anthing makes it that way, that's just the way it is. Light has no mass, but I'm not sure that's the answer. does dimmer light travel slower than bright light? how come in far distance, we see bright light better than dim light? -- No, all light travels at the same speed, bright light is more visible just because there's more of it. Is laser light? Does laser travel at the same speed as light? -- Indeed it is, and it travels at the same speed as all other light.
Light is a type of radiation, in the electromagnetic spectrum. You can get lots of types of light - radio waves are classed as light, along with x rays, so these travel at the same speed :) dim light travels at the same speed as bright light. Dim light just has less...energy (less photons are released, and photons are pockets of energy). Light will obviously lose intensity the further you are, because the photons spread out more. If dim light releases less photons, there is more chance that all of them will be lost by the time they reach your eye than bright light with lots of photons :) A laser is light, so travels at the same speed
Light is a type of radiant energy. It is both electromagnetic waves and packets of energy called photons. It can be shown theoretically (but the math is very complicated) that any electromagnetic wave must travel at a particular speed and no other speed. All light of all intensity and from all sources travels at the same speed. It makes no difference if it is bright or dim. It makes no difference if it is laser light or sunlight or firelight or any light source.
