When was plastic invented, and what materials is it composed of?
Well, this is a much more difficult question. There are many types of plastics, both natural and synthetic. All plastics are organic materials, which means they are mainly made of carbon. Because there are natural plastics, you can't really say when it was invented. However, asking when the first plastics were produced in lab would probably be a better question. New plastics are developed everyday.
plastics are polymers which means many-mers or many parts. they are primarily composed of carbon and hydrogen bonds, hence the reason they turn to black charcoal when burned.
