Question:

What is reflection of light?

I have a physics project and it's about reflection and I need to know about Opaque, transparent and translucent materials, Formation of shadows, Rectilinear propagation of light, Laws of reflection, Ray diagrams, Plane mirrors and mirrors at an angle. Someone Please explain this to me so that if I can understand this then I can present this in my own understanding.

Answer:

Opaque = no light passes thru (bricks) Translucent = some light (wax paper) Transparent = all / most light (window)
Types of mirrors Plane, reflects at the angle of incident. Retro reflector returns most light back to the source. Is ineffective in bright ambient light. Phase conjugate mirror, three dimensional and returns all light back to the origin,no matter what the incident. A destructive laser beam would destroy the emitter.
Transparent light easily passes through transclucent dim opaque no light passes
