Question:

What is shear resistance, stress?

What is shear resistance, stress?

Answer:

Perpendicular to the cross section is called normal or normal stress, and the tangent of the same section is called shear stress or shear stress. Stress will increase with the increase of external force, for a certain material, the growth of stress is limited, beyond this limit, the material will be destroyed. For a material, the limit that stress may reach is called the ultimate stress of the material. The ultimate stress should be measured by mechanical tests of the material. The limit should be properly reduced and the maximum stress value of the material can be worked out. This is the allowable stress. If the material is to be used safely, the stress in use should be less than its ultimate stress, otherwise the material will be destroyed in use.
Some of the materials in the work, the external force does not change with time, then the internal stress of the same size, called the static stress; there are some materials, the force changes periodically with time, then the internal stress also periodically with time change, called alternating stress. The failure of materials under alternating stresses is called fatigue failure. Usually the material is subjected to alternating stress is far less than the static ultimate strength, failure may occur. In addition, the material may cause a partial increase in stress due to the change of sectional size. This phenomenon is called stress concentration. For homogeneous brittle materials, stress concentration will greatly reduce the strength of components, which should be paid special attention to in the design of components.
When the object is deformed by force, the deformation of the points in the body is generally not the same. The amount of mechanical force used to describe the extent of deformation at a point is the strain at that point. To this end, it is possible to move to a cell at that point and compare the size and shape of the element before and after deformation.
Object: stress due to external factors (stress, humidity etc.) and the deformation, internal force of interaction between various parts of the body to resist the external factors, and tries to make the object from the deformation position after the return to the position before deformation. The internal force on a unit area of the cross section of the survey is called stress.
Shear resistance: the ability to resist shear. For example, the force of the bolt in the bolt connection is perpendicular to the bolt axis
