I have a large-er family (of 8) and I want to sew a tablecloth to use, because all the ready-made ones aren‘t very pretty or don‘t fit our table. What is the best tablecloth to use for a family that frequently spills? It must be washable. Thanks!

Don't get it flushed or change it, if you mess with it all the old junk in their will break loose and your transmission will go out. I work at a transmission shop and we see it everyday, people get their transmission flushed and then we get to rebuild it. It will last a lot longer if you leave it alone, and keep it full. The difference between flush and change is flushing it gets all the fluid out of the converter also, and changing it does nothing because there's still dirty fluid in the converter. Think about it, if you mix 1 quart dirty water with 3 quarts clean water you get a gallon of dirty water. However, flushing is good for your transmission if you do it every say 20k, but like you said, you don't know it's previous maintenance record.
A good polyester cotton blend will work well. The polyester will keep it from shrinking and it will keep some stains from setting. The cotton means you can wash it in hot water and use stain treatments on it. If you can find a visa brand pure polyester fabric that's even better. visa is a trademark for a polyester with high stain and soil resistance and a stain release finish. Stains should wash out easily from this fabric. There are other non branded or trademarked polyesters that are designed for home decor and table coverings. They have a thicker, slightly coarser weave and texture. Pure polyester has better stain release qualities and never shrinks or fades. Stay away from pure cottons because of shrinkage issues; silks and rayons because of staining and wear and tear issues and linen because of the expense and because it wrinkles easily. A few places sell flannel backed oilcloth (in reality a vinyl) designed for table cloths. They are a little old fashioned and the colors and prints aren't always the prettiest, but they do protect the table and they are simply wipe with a cloth to clean. Another option is to by clear sheet vinyl and use it over a high quality fabric at meal times. You have the nice fabric when no-one is eating, and the vinyl goes over at meal time. It's easy to clean off vinyl with a damp cloth and dry with towel.
flush cleans out the valve body and the torque converter i think. if you want to do it the cheap way, just drain the fluid out yourself and put some new fluid in it. 120 bucks is a joke for that. you should change it. after 100k miles a flush is usually a bad idea.

The flush is probably a little more expensive, but is better on transmission. If the fluid is burnt the fluid and filter should be changed. If it is still under factory warranty, you should take it to a dealer. taking it to anyone else could void the warranty.
