Question:

What is the best material for shoelaces?

What material shoelaces are good quality (ie. long lasting, are fine if they get wet, etc.)? Nylon, polyester, cotton.?

Answer:

The best thing to make shoelaces out of is the $0.99 for 10 yards nylon cord in the crafts department at Wal-Mart. It's stronger, and more durable than any ready-made shoelaces, and you can use it for so many other things, pretty much anything you need extremely strong, durable cord for. Just be sure to knot the ends good (I knot them 4 times), because it does unravel. Other than that, it's the strongest kind of string I know of.
Nylon first. Then cloth.
