I heard Dysons are very nice, but they are very expensive. I could save up for one but it is all its cracked up to be? Are there any less expensive vacuum cleaners out there that are worth the money? I want one that doesn't clog easy and can pick up pet hair. Also preferably one that isn't too messy to dump it contents. Thanks ! :)
The answer to the question can change every month. Go to a vacuum repair shop that also sells new and ask them their recommendation, I did when I bought my Sharp 8 years ago and still love it.

I have Dyson and I LOVE it. I have had it for over a year, and it still works great! My mother has had hers for 5 years and has never had a problem with it. Prior to getting her Dyson, she would go through a vacuum once a year.
I use to own a Kirby and the motor went out on it after having it for 5 years. As expensive as that was ,I was not impressed and decided against sinking anymore money into it so I bought a Hoover Mach 5 which was about $200 and have liked the results I've goten with it. It is bagless and picks up pet hair very well. This was a couple years ago so a newer model than the Mach 5 is available I'm sure.Just because you pay more for something doesn't necessarily mean it is better. I would never buy another Kirby or a Rainbow for that matter.
