I have a 115lb german shepard and he always goes on the sofa. I am getting a new sofa in a week so i need a solution fast!!!!! Thanks for any help you can give. PLease answer ASAP!
Well I would say to buy him his own personal bed. Put a few toys there, and give him a small treat whenever he goes in his bed by himself. But work on training him ASAP because you don't want him on your new couch.

I walk through every door before him because this is my space. If I leave my plate of food on the floor it is mine untill I say otherwise. Claim your space
Never let the dog in the room where the sofa is unless there is a person that will correct him if he tries to get up on the couch. Whenever the dog gets off the couch, praise him give him a treat.
Well this is all about training your dog. You should get a collar that has teeth in it. What this collar does it gives the dog a bite like his or her mother. get a leash and show the dog where you want it to lay a pillow or dog bed. This is where he or she can be all the time when you want it to be there. Show the dog were this is. Only tell the dog once to lay there every time the dog gets up without your permission put the dog back and tug on the leash so the collar bites the dog. Don't tell the dog they know what you want they are just testing you as dogs like to be the leader and you must show the dog you are the boss not them. The collar doesn't hurt them just shows them you are the leader of the pack. You need to make sure every one in the house does the same. Doing this repeated the excat same way everyday the dog will soon do it on comand.
