It's a flexible dryer vent hoseIt comes in 3 an 4 sizes and you can get it in various lengths (not usually by the foot) and kitsMeasure the diameter of your ventIf you have a gas dryer, get only the aluminum hoseEither one is OK for an electric dryerWhen you take the old one off (you'll need a flat head screw driver), you can see how to put the new one onIt's very easyYou just slip on the bracket, then slip the hose onto the ventMove the bracket around the vent and tighten the screwThere should be instructions included in the kitMake sure the hose is not dragging on the floor or in a JYou want it to go as straight up to the exhaust vent as possibleOtherwise, it will collect lint and moistureIf it's too long, you can shorten it, but if it's too short, you should go buy a longer oneIt's not good to tape them together due to the nature of lint.
