Question:

What is the concept of BV when dealing with resins?

What is the concept of BV when dealing with resins?

Answer:

For example, the flow rate of the solution through the resin column is 2 to 4BV/h, i.e., the volume of the solution through the solution is 2~4 times of that of the resin bed per hour. The processing power of resins is often calculated in terms of BV.
Industrial resin column bed volume usually from 1 to 10m3, also have smaller or larger. This is the basic unit of resin column, and the amount of material it works with is BV.
The resin is usually mounted in a cylindrical resin column and the solution passes continuously. The volume of resin loaded inside the resin column is called the bed volume (bed, volume), abbreviated as BV.
