In other words, not the traditional way that real estate is transacted.
Investor = buys and sells real estate for profit Agent = professional who helps Sellers sell and Buyers buy real estate, for commission
Real estate investor invest in the property but real estate help the investor in investing the money in right way, in exchange of it he charge some specific percent of the deal as his fees.
A real estate agent finds you a house or property and finds a buyer for you. A real estate investor will find a house or property that they want to buy to rent out or turn around and sell for a profit. Difference, real estate agent has no interest in the property itself, just the seller and buyer...the investor has interest in the property...makes sense?
Real estate investors come in many varieties. There are different ways to invest in real estate. The investor may be a singular individual or a group of investors that pool their money together. One investment may be to purchase fixer-upper homes, quickly remodel them and then sell them at a significant profit, splitting the profits between the investors....or.....re-investing the profits in doing the same thing again and again. Another investment may be to provide high interest loans to people wanting to purchase a home or refinance. Another invesment may be to purchase raw land, prepare it for development and then sell it to a developer for a handsome profit. There are really so many investment techniques. But the goal is the same. To make money. The real estate 'agent' is who you see inside the real estate storefront when walking down the street. He/She will represent either a (1) seller of a home, or a (2) buyer of a home, or both. A simple transaction and afterwards, each earns their money through commissions on the sale. Some agents can also be the middle man for linking investors to investment opportunities.
People use the terms REALTOR? and real estate agent interchangeably, but that is incorrect. There are differences between REALTORS? and real estate agents. They are not the same. Although both are licensed to sell real estate, the basic difference between a real estate agent and a REALTOR? is a REALTOR? is a member of the National Association of REALTORS?. As such, the main difference that you hear a lot about -- but are likely confused about -- is that a REALTOR? must subscribe to the REALTOR? Code of Ethics. But what does this mean to a consumer? The Code of Ethics is strictly enforced. It contains 17 Articles and various underlying Standards of Practice. It's not just a bunch of rules that agents swear to uphold and adhere to. The Standards are much more restrictive and confining as to conduct than those governing agents who simply hold a real estate license. While there is no evidence nor guarantee that all REALTORS? are morally or ethically better than unaffiliated real estate agents, it is an attempt by the industry to regulate and, as such, deserves recognition. Keeping mind, of course, that even the non-NAR member real estate agent is held to the same legal standard, as a practical matter............Real Estate Agent Bendigo
