What is the difference between a sofa and a settee?

Answer:

A settee is smaller than a loveseat.
I think a sofa is the same as a couch. I think maybe the settee is the foot rest thing.
A sofa is large enough to hold 3 or 4 people. A settee holds two.
Sofa, settee AND COUCH - all mean the same thing. Well they do in England anyway. A chesterfield on the other hand must be made from leather and be of large proportions.
