it seems like they‘re the same thing but i keep getting them confused and yeah i have a midterm tomorrow and i want to make sure i don‘t get it confused. thanks :)
Additive Identity Property Of Zero
There is no additive identity of zero. Zero is the additive identity of the set of real numbers (and the set of rational numbers, integers, natural numbers, etc.). The additive property of zero states that x+0x for all x in the set of real numbers (or rational numbers, integers, natural numbers, etc.). Having this additive property is what it means for a number to be the additive identity of a set. In other words, zero is the additive identity of all the familiar sets of numbers because adding it to any number in these sets produces the same number; this property is called the additive property of zero.
