What is the difference between the car engine model and the AT and the MT?
AT (automatic transmission) - mainly using hydraulic torque converter, with the traditional mechanical gear box to achieve shift function.
MT (manual transmission), is a conventional gearbox, it is the use of different gear for the power transmission and gear collocation, collocation transform can only rely on hand foot clutch lever to realize, this is the so-called manual transmission.
The same point is AT and MT, the two is a manual transmission, but AT can according to the vehicle speed automatic gear change, hand car can eliminate the setback of the shift feeling. Many people think AT is CVT (infinitely variable transmission) is quite wrong. In fact, both the AT and the MT are polar transmissions.
