Your head lights are your main lights you use at night for driving. Fog Lights (when amber) cut through fog at a lower level however you won't get the distance that you would with regular head lights. Most of the time, the fog lights are aimed lower than your head lights and pointed more towards the road than further out! I'm not sure what you mean by exterior lights, but these could be lights that are housed in locations like your rear-view mirror that light up when you open your door. Also called puddle lamps. Some people add lights to their vehicles like neon and LED lights. Other exterior lights may include your parking lights, turn signal lights, and break lights. Hope this helps.
