What is the essential difference between PVC rubber and ordinary rubber?

Answer:

PVC is polyvinyl chloride (with "green" sound) vinyl, English PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), is a vinyl chloride monomer (vinyl chloride monomer, referred to as VCM) in peroxide, such as azo compound initiator; or in light, under the action of heat polymerization by free radical reaction mechanism of polymerization of polymers. The vinyl chloride homopolymer and vinyl chloride copolymer are collectively referred to as vinyl chloride resins. The material is a non crystalline material. PVC materials often use stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, pigments, anti shock agents and other additives in practical use. Is not flammable, high strength, excellent resistance to climate variability and geometric stability. PVC has strong resistance to oxidizing agents, reducing agents and strong acids. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, and it is also not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
PVC is not rubber at all. It should belong to plastics. Plastic is generally hard, rubber is generally soft, but this is not absolute. Soft PVC is special. Because the soft PVC feels like rubber, in fact it is not rubber. Rubber is divided into natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber, butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, silicone rubber and so on, nearly 20.
Rubber is a kind of polymer material. High elasticity at room temperature is a unique characteristic of rubber material, which is not available in any other material. Therefore, rubber is also called elastomer. The performance of high elastic material is that it has large elastic deformation under the action of external force. It can reach up to 1000%. After removing the external force, the deformation will recover quickly, and the deformation of the metal material with universal elasticity is only about 1%.
