Question:

What is the max speed a car can have as it passes the highest point of a bump before losing contact w/ road?

The car has a mass of 1720 kg; the bump follows the arc of a circle that has a radius of 42.1 m.I have no idea how to work with this problem. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance!

Answer:

It sounds like you already know the answer, a 30 series tire is too low a profile, it has minimal sidewall to absorb any kind of real world bump.
they must be huge bumps in the road or you are going way faster than 80. What are the rims make of?
i do it myself - you either pay 60 -80 dollars an hour - and they wont except your supplys and you pay more anyway - unless its a plumber you know real well - its really not hard to do yourself - buy ball valve fittings - but be very careful of the plastic seals and parts inside heating up - apply more heat with mapp gas and real torch - a real torch head has many ports in it for even heating all around the copper and way less chance of a leaky failure half seal job that you will half to cut off to start over in that section you are working on - but the savings even with a couple mistakes pay for themselves in the long run learning to do these things yourself - it pays yourself to do it out of skill for later - and you can buy pressure fittings that require no solder - too - install extra shut off valves for older pipe systems that are really questionable - those extra valves save many headaches later - and at the same time you can still have water to other needed areas - the extra time and money is well spent doing it better yourself - then a contracter who is too big of a hurry to next job - and cheap work with no extra shut off valves that you cant afford at 80.00 an hour - so try it - you will be suprised - or do what you think best- two tricks of the trade - let cool completly with no vibration or touching for 1 full min . after solder - 2 - pre wire clean both male and female ends with battery terminal tool - you can also use emory cloth sand paper - dont stress the joints against the walls or boards when soldering - as much as possible stress free - and let each joint cool a few min. before adding the next one - this is critical - and presto - good job - good work - and extra shut off valves to begin with - ha - its entirly up to you though - sometimes planning pays off on extra valves and added extra water spickets as well - and i only charged 10.00 an hour
