what is the primary differences between 5/16 and 3/8 engineered flooring - besides thickness?

The thickness, the width and the length is about all there is to it /except the finish and or color
Engineered flooring not Laminate flooring has a real wood surface layer. I wouldn't worry about the thickness difference as much as how thick this top layer is. The thicker top layer can be refinishedsanded and stained more.
