Im writing a paper and I forgot what its called. They are really big and shaped like a can. Farmers put wheat or corn into it if they have too much or to store it for the winter.

Those pipes you see going in on many of them are called a grain leg, which is basically an auger system for filling
Silos are the taller, more slender buildings seen on older farms. They are for the storage of silage (chopped green corn plants) which ferments to make it taste better to cattle. The shorter, wider buildings are grain bins. As mentioned they have legs that will be attached to the top center so grain can be dropped into the bin. They often have fans around the edges to blow air into the grain to remove moisture and prevent spoilage. In the Great Plains area you will see elevators made of concrete that are quite tall for the storage of grain from the local farms until it is sold and shipped to mills.
