Question:

What is the "variable" of a variable pump?

What is the "variable" of a variable pump? Is the displacement change or the flow change? Thank you

Answer:

These two don't mean the same thing? That is, the pump outlet can be changed
There are many ways to change the variable pump flow: by changing the eccentricity to change the piston stroke length (radial piston pump, the frequency change principle) motor speed to adjust the flow (such as gear pump flow control principle).
Variable pump variable refers to the flow can be changed to distinguish from the constant flow of quantitative pumps.
