Question:

What is this black goo in my water pipes?

I get my water from a larger water supplier/ source hard water has not traditionally been a problem in the area. Before moving into this house 6yrs ago, all new copper pipe was ran but the water heater was not replaced at that time (the fittings were). Replaced the water heater yesterday and the black, gooey crud inside the fittings was absolutely NASTY. Also, some of the surface started oxidizing after an hour or two of exposure to air. This stuff was in the cold and hot fittings and filled up about a third of the lumen. It just seemed like a alot of buildup for 6 year old pipe, espec. copper. There is also alot of silt that makes it to the faucet farthest from my intake so that I have already had to replace my ceramic valves. Should I be concerned with my county's water quality? What can I do about it?

Answer:

yes with out a lecture on why,
Why? The smoke detector is there to protect you and your family. They are wired with four cables..A live, a Neutral, an earth and a link cable. The live is permanent and comes off a lighting MCB usually 10amp. If you wire a light using this it will be not switched so will be permanently on. What you can do is leave the detector there and wire a sensor light off it using the live, neutral and earth. The sensor will pick up movement after dusk and turn your light on. If you need detail I can do a simple diagram for you. Best of luck and remember to turn off the power if your doing any wiring:)
The wiring powering the smoke detector is, in all likelihood, off wiring serving light fixtures. It is highly possible that you are able to install a light there without overloading a circuit. It might be best to check that possibility before you go through the trouble of running a switch line. To test, turn off the power, disconnect the detector and connect a light temporarily. Energize all lights associated with that circuit to see that it does not trip a breaker.
It shouldn't take you that long! Maybe about 3 hours if you constantly go into buildings with 5 floors during invasions! Invasions double up your points and you get more points the higher you are on buildings. So say you use squirt on the first floor, you'd only get 4 points but on the fifth floor, you'd get like 30 points. Without an invasion, just cut those numbers in half.
Let me see, a fork of course, knife, spoon, steak knife nut cracker to open the lobster some people use a cocktail fork to pick out the lobster meat don't forget extra dish to put parts of lobster on
