The detector depending on the type will generally be sensitive to smoke and heat. It would appear you must change it's location to be effective but not overly sensitive. If you have an exhaust van over your stove be sure to use it when the range is on. If your home has more than one level it is suggested you place a detector at the top and at the bottom of the stairway.Never tamper with the detector it is there to save lives, you want to be able to trust it will work properly for you.
Could they be detecting carbon monoxide. Check stove water heater.
Hell yeah I do! It's GOOD. If someone's tied to the bumper at the time, though, that's even better.
