Question:

What is wrong with using wax paper in the oven?

I just used wax paper instead of parchment paper to bake some ginger cookiesThey were in the oven for 10 minutes at 375F and the cookies came out perfectly! There was no smoke or burning on the wax paper, and there didn't seem to be any wax residue on the cookiesI'd like the rest of the cookies to turn out exactly like this batch, but only have wax paper and aluminum foil in the cabinetIs it really that bad to use wax paper for cookies? I'm worried that foil will make the cookies crispier and greasing the pan will cause them to spread more.
