I need recipe ideas (main entrees, desserts, anything)What is a recipe in your regular rotation?
Your changing tuning from E to D on a floating bridge ? That alone is asking for trouble if you keep repeating this process on the same stringsIt also screws up the intonationWhen detuning from E to D, you are also removing some of the counter pressure on the tremolo system, which will cause the floating point bridge to lean back toward the bodyWhen detuning like this, you must rebalance the tension of the strings in the back of the guitar to match the new, lower tension of the string pull, which was reduced by detuningIf you want to play in bothe ranges ( E and D ) you should get a second guitar, and keep the tuning the same on each, after the initial set upWhat I mean is to keep one tuned to D and one tuned to E, thus not having to keep changing the tuning on one, and causing undo wear on the strings at the weakest point ( the bridge )Once a particular guitar is set up for a particulr tuning, keep that tuning on it, and keep using the same gauge of strings, or you will need to do another set up for the spring tension and the intonationWhen you keep retuning your guitar to different keys ( E and D ) you are putting stress on different places of the stringThe strings move slightly as they stretch and releaseRepeatedly going back and forth on them will cause them to break prematurelyI hope this clarifies your problemI have played guitar for over 45 years, so if you need me to explain this farther, you can click on my avatar to email me( I am a guiatr tech, and luthierI started working on my own guitars in 1977, so I'm no beginner at thisI now service dozens of guitars for professional musicians in my area.)
There is no fix for alternate tuning a floating bridge, or at least not without being a pain in the $$, why do you think people with money buy multiple guitars for drop tuning? think there going to stand on stage and screw around trying to tune there floating bridge to drop C? No there going to pick up another guitar thats already tuned to ithowever there were a few that left the back cover off there Strats just for that reason, Jimi Hendrix was one of them, kinda old school but if you know what your doing it can be done rather quickly.
O-h-h-h my, Elleinahtan - Where did you buy this guitar, and WHY? The problem is that an instrument 'distributor' does not usually have the ability to fix what they sellI hope you did not pay dearly for this guitar The bridge on the guitar needs to be replaced and, if I'm seeing correctly, your E-string is breaking up near the tuning postThis is usually caused by a rough edge and can be taken care ofTo perform all the necessary work on this guitar would probably allow you to buy a real StratocasterIf you keep the guitar just know that it's condition is fair bad - there are other guitars that someone SHOULD have shown you - Good Luck, Elleinahtan -
