Question:

What is Your Opinion---Stained Sofa?

My 19 year old step son ate a greasy breakfast, sitting on my fine designer sofa. He knows NOT to eat any thing sitting on the sofa, and that he is to sit at the table, or bar, when eating. ( His dad and I were out of town.) His plate spilled on to the sofa, and he smeared the food on it, trying to clean it up. The sofa is now stained. We have tried cleaning it with stain remover and upholstery cleaner. The area around the stain has lightened up and the stain remains. So, my designer sofa, that I purchased before I married the teen's dad, is damaged. It will be very expensive to replace the damaged designer sofa. I told my husband I think the teen should pay for some of the damage. What is your opinion? Do you think the teen should pay anything?

Answer:

Greasy breakfast? Sounds like he fapped all over your new loins,
Absolutely YES! He knows better than that, so now he can pay the piper. Sorry and good luck
I think he should pay for damage. If he knows he shouldn't do what he did, then he should pay for damage. Hes old enough to realize what he did wrong, and he should have money at this point. Yes I definitely think he should pay.
I think you are being petty. If you want a new sofa pay for it yourself. I have cleaned up all kinds of spills on carpets and chair and left no stain behind. Your sofa was probably made of cheap material and you should have had it scotch guarded when you bought it. Or you used the wrong kind of cleaner or applied it in an incorrect way.
