Question:

What kinds of foods with filter water well?

I have to make a water filter for school using only things found in the kitchen. What kind of foods could I use that would filter water representing a charcoal or sand filter?

Answer:

Foods will not filter. they sell a charcoal that goes into water filters at home. they sell charcoal pills that could be ground up cotton balls will help a sieve to start to take out the big stuff, or hold the filtering system cloth will work for some things there is a polyester stuffing material that works better than cotton balls coffee filter works well steel wool pad without soap may filter some
unless you are planning on going all out on making your car into a performance vehicle, its not worth it. It improves gas milage just slightly, but hardly noticable. i also prefer short rams, they give lower end power.
depends on the vehicle, but usally yes its better if its a TRUE cold air intake. that name gets thrown around a lot.
You could begin with a sieve (looks like a parabolic screen) and a coffee filter. If you live in a particularly dirty place, it will get some of it out. Remember in science it is not the best method that is important: it is that you think to try something. You never know what accidents will bring. The big thing would be to try distilling the water. You can put a small Pyrex glass inside a pot. Put something heavy that's clean at the bottom of the glass so it doesn't float. LIke quarters maybe. Put the lid on the pot and let the water boil (more like a simmer. When the steam hits the lid, it will condense and drop into the glass. Doesn't matter how much you get. It just matters that it works even a little bit.
