What different lights are in theatre?
There are lots of different lights. The most common are: Fresnel - a light that uses a stepped lens to cast directional lights, best used for fill Ellipsoidal reflector spotlight - (ERS) - sometimes called a Leko which is a type of this light. ERS use one or more plano-convex lenses to cast a directional light that can be focused to have crisp and sharp edges. Used for all types of light, very versatile. There are also scoops, beam projectors, open face, strobes, Footlights, cyc lights and more. For more info, just google. There are also Arc type lights, like HMI, but these are mainly used in film...
Parcan, profile, fresnel, automated or moving light, pinspot, birdie... Head to your local library and look them up.
