I don't have much money, and I'm trying to improve the range of my wifi card as much as possible for picking up distant hotspotsI've tried many things already, I have a regular high gain 9 inch tall omnidirectional antenna for my laptop orinoco card, however what has been working much better is I have a USB dongle for my desktop, which I put inside a can(I've tried arranging it many other ways, including installing it on a 3 foot satelite dish, and many other types of parabolic reflectors but nothing ever worked as good as the tin can.Surely I think their must be some better way to boost the signal even more than my homemade quot;cantennaquot; canPerhaps is there some way to hook up some sort of amplifier to amplify the incoming/outgoing signal? Or any other ideas?Or maybe theres just a better card I should buy that's super high powered (hopefully not costing much though)Any ideas would be helpful.

get yourself a ethernet cord wrap tightly around a cell phone no more than 20 time's plug other end into laptopand if you want even tape the cell so it dangle's in a big bowl with aluminum foilthat's a vid on my site you can check out tell's you how.
