What's the use of a rubber boat safety rope?
From the pictures above, it's easy to see that if you fall into the water and your safety rope is connected to the ship, then speed is the deadliest killer, and it doesn't matter with the length of the rope. So, once a man overboard should immediately stop. In doing so, the chances of success are greater.
It is wise to hang up your short safety rope at the windward safety line. If you fall overboard, then return to the ship deck as soon as possible. If you fall overboard on the windward side, try to make sure you are out of the water. In this way, other crew members will have the chance to rescue you.
Using a short safety rope ensures you won't fall into the water. If you really fall overboard, we find a short safety rope on the windward side that will keep you above the surface of the water, but at the leeward side it will be underwater.
