I have just become a certified scuba diverAnd honestly i have no clue on what to buy I found websites that give packages but I dont know what I should really get.
For BC's, comfort and fit are biggiesWhere do you plan on going with your diving education? What type of BC did you wear for you certification? I'm betting you wore a jacket BC, as they seem to be a common training BC(The BC inflated both at the back and waist) Was it comfortable? If you found it too constraining at the waist, a back inflate BC may be more to your likingIf you plan on getting into technical diving at any point in your diving, you would be better off purchasing a Back plate / wing combo99.9% of technical divers wear this style of BCMany recreational divers also use it, preferring the simplicity of the designIt consists of a stainless steel or aluminum plate, with a bladder attachedA simple strap system with d-rings is most common with this set upIt's all going to boil down to what's comfortable to YOUI've always prefered a back inflateMy wife, who's my buddy most of the time, prefers a jacket styleRegulators also fit into the same moldThat said, whichever regulator you buy, you'll want to be sure you can have it serviced locally.
their is a difference between canisters and filters one stops gases and vapors and the other stops particles not sure which is which sorry but as far as fit testing just do a positive and negative test first cover exale valves and blow out gently you shouldn't feel a leek but you should feel pressure in mask building hold for a couple senconds then cover inhale valves and in hale should be able to watch mask suck in and hold that for a couple seconds if it holds both ways well that it fits and you should but that one
I'm looking for a retail store that would have full face respirators to try on for proper size/fit(Respirators that take 40mm NATO threaded filter canisters and are certified against NBC (Nuclear Biological, Chemical)/ CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) threatsThanks, Tiina
