The main control for the locks is behind the glovebox, which is pretty east to pull out, that clicking tells you the electronics is goo I bet the main harness is loose, since both sides don't work
All of those exists. Wouldn't be very creative to reinvent them. The biggest breakthrough has been sodium acrylate which absorbs 300 times it's weight in water, yes wet diapers. They make a foam that you can spray on a structure which can withstand 4000 degree fahrenheit heat without passing the heat through the foam. They can make blankets filled with the stuff and they have clothes that are filled with them too. As to a shelter, I doubt a fireman is going to drag a fireproof doghouse around with him.
Mine have all been safe. I have used an electric blanket for 50 years and I wouldn't live without one.
