I would suggest going with the full load amps field. This is mainly due to the fact that it emits enough conductivity to power the voltage, but not enough to disrupt the electrical current (this is a common problem with the DC three phase and the field voltage).
The DC field amps don't tell you anything about the 3 phase AC (not DC) windings. That is the defining thing, the power for energizing the field is given- that is part of the calculation, but not the bigger part.
