need some solar lights to display art work at concerts. don't know how many lights we may need. We have a 10x10 tent. Thinking a string o rope lights 4 a base light and then a couple spotlights may do the trick

Alternately you can install 5 Watt POWER LEDS which are approximately equivalent to a 40 Watt lightbulb. With the low voltage halogens, you need to have several deep cycle batteries on hand because a single 50 Watt halogen low voltage bulb will draw 4.2 Amps. Figure about a half dozen deep cycles, and size the supply wire accordingly for the higher current than 120 VAC draws. If you plan to run off an inverter, modified sine often kills modern flourescent ballasts.
Low voltage lighting still has to be plugged into a power outlet in order to function, even though the voltage level is very low and relatively safe. But solar lighting is powered entirely by sunlight.
