Question:

what to take on a looooooooong RV trip?

we are buying an RV and going on a quot;vacationquot; for at least 2 months probably longer, the RV is brand new so there is nothing in it except what comes in them from the factory, I need to know what we should stock it with and what we need to bring I have a list with like clothes, flashlights, basic cleaning, and personal type stuff but what else do I need? I want to get as much as I can from home so I don't have to buy a bunch of stuff I forgotTHanks for any help.

Answer:

Same things you'd use at homeWhen we go on a long tent camping trip, I make a list - but start with the major categories: Bathroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, Patio (campfire time) Under each category, list all the stuff you use daily, that you'll needYou should find plenty of space in your RV - use small to medium sized Rubbermaid totes to sort it, then slide the totes into the cabinets, or unload them into them when you're ready to depart For the Kitchen list, I'd put together a permanent stock of things you'll always need: basic herbs spices, olive oil, etcThen think about a few basic menus you can use and stock in the foods you'll need for the first 4-5 days Don't forget to bring lost of garbage bags and aluminum foil They come in handy For the Patio or Campfire time - you'll want some folding chairs, maybe a side table, a lantern might be nice, or maybe tiki torches, and some flashlightsYou'll also want grilling utensils for cooking over the fire If you're in an area where you can use downed trees for firewood, you'll want a bow saw for cutting up kindling, maybe an axe? In the Bathroom list, don't forget to include a well stocked first aid kit, along with bug dope, sunblock, and after sun cream Have fun making the list - and don't stress about itYou can always add things as you travel around.
