an A FRAME house is easy and cheap you can build one for less than 20,000 plus septic, well, and Electric build on cement slabout side walls and roof are done when framed then just cap the ends if up north, but a wood stove in , very warm and comfortable .the septic can be done by you , just find out what the codes are for your area you can do it ,good luckit might seem like to much but it isn't
The older homes are built great in the Ohio areaMost of them are framed with oak joists and raftersNew homes in Ohio require a r-8 insulation in the celings with 10 inches of insulation if it is blownMOst new homes insulate 4 feet of the basement from ground level down to the end of the frost lineThey wrap the exterior of the house in a sheet of tyvek that kills drafts and acts as the homes sheet.
a plumbers spring should work , you can buy these springs in various sizes you insert inside the tube and then bend it the spring prevents the tube collapsing as you bend Ive also heard that you can fill a tube with sand for the same purpose but I've never tried ita conduit bender should be ok too but costs a lot more.
