What type of clothing would you recommend for my trip to Italy in October?
I went to Italy in November last year and took all winter clothes thinking that it was going to be very cold however, it was very warm, i was far too hot in jeans and t-shirt. I would imagine that in October it will be much warmer as it's just coming towards the end of the tourist season and therefore suggest summer clothes and something warmer for the evenings.
It depends on what part of Italy u're gonna visit.I live in Northern Italy.and believe me,October here is anything but warm!!!!!!!!
Weather is very different from north to south; the country is long stretched. If you go to the north, bring some warm clothes, especially if you go into the Alps or Dolomites. If you pack for the south, bring mainly t-shirts, but don't forget some long sleeves and one or two sweaters. Days can be warm, but nights can cool down. See the links below. Choose our warm country checklist if you go to the south, but add some sweaters and longsleeves. If you go to the north, take the cold holiday checklist, but don't pack too warm since Italy isn't that cold in autumn. I also added a link to an article about the Italian climate, and a checklist for your carry-on. Hope this helps!
