In order to avoid the electrical current produced by dissimilar metals I understand that solid copper hangers are best - also is plastic hanger or straps o.k. to use with copper hot water lines? And what type of fasteners or screws should I use for the straps or hangers? dissimilar
plastic is the cheapest and easiest - any type of fastener can be used, as it will not react with copper. If you use copper clips/hangers you should use copper nails/screws. There are hangers that don't require fasteners, as they can be nailed in. However, these require the space to 'hammer' them in. good luck! PS - as much as I prefer copper, I have begun using cpvc. Much easier! quicker! Cheaper!
