Question:

What type of schooling do you need to become a real estate agent?

What courses should I take when I go to college if I want to be a real estate agent?

Answer:

If all you want to do is obtain your real estate license you need not attend a college to do this. There are many on line courses that you might enroll in to obtain your license from your state. To find these sites you should google your state followed by real estate license. This should bring up information about your state requirements to obtain a real estate license in your state. Once you have seen this information you should have a clear idea of the requirements, therefore you will be able to make an intelligent decision as to what method you would want to use to obtain your real estate license. This site should give you a list of real estate schools and college courses that are required to obtain your license in your state. If you decide to attend college you should check with your career counselor about the necessary required courses necessary to obtain your license. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
It depends on where you are... In Arizona, you need a minimum of 90 hours of class work, have to pass the school test. Then you have two tests administered by the state, One is Arizona specific, and the other is a General real estate test. After you pass those three tests, you have to take a contract writing class, get fingerprinted and a background check... once all of that is complete, and you pass all of it.. you pay your fees and get your license. In Arizona, you are also required to maintain your license. That means you have to take continuing education classes every year. You MUST have 24hours every two years to retain you lic. Good Luck
you don't need a degree for real estate only a certificate. you can actually get the course online or you can take the courses in a college setting if your school offers them. I would NEVER pay college tuition prices for Real Estate certificate. You can take the courses for around $250 online.
You don't need to go to a school per se. It is typically a course that is offered by a lot of private businesses and some of the larger brokerages also offer courses. The course typically isn't something that you pass and get a certificate from. Their purpose is to prepare you for the state's Real Estate examination that is VERY difficult if you don't take your study seriously. Last I remember, Century21 sponsored a course that was pretty good. You might call one of their offices or simply check your local Yellow Pages.
You don't need college courses to have a real estate agent's license, you just need to go to any one of the real estate schools available in the area first, or can take the prep courses online, and then pass the state real estate course. Don't know what state you are in but a lot of the major real estate agencies offer the course, like Weichert etc. It takes several weeks to complete the course.
