Question:

What would make copper pipes and wiring turn bluish black?

We just had our bathroom remodeled and our contractor said our copper pipes and the copper wiring he used was turning a bluish black color and he said he has never seen that before, can anyone tell me what might cause this?

Answer:

Its the copper it tarnishes like jewelery.
I have never heard of that, but you should check into it. The water you drink comes through it.And could be contaminated. It takes years for it to oxidize and tarnish.
Oxidation. Can be restored by over the counter cleaners.
