Also, depending on your oven you may just need to cook the cookies at a lower temperature than recommendedBaking cookies is all about getting the temperature right so play around with temperatureI'd recommend going lowerAs far as why they were black at the bottom first, it's the part that touches the pan and thus heats up the quickest.
