Question:

Whats the best way to repair/refinish aluminum Rims?

The rims on my car are pitted and the paint is coming off one of them quite badlyI'm a College student without much money, is there any inexpensive way to repair them? I'd prefer if they looked good up close as well as from a distance.

Answer:

Well, whether you repaint them or not, sandblasting will have to be the first step, all the paint will have to be removed, leaving a good clean surface that the new paint will stick toIf you want to leave them in the blasted aluminum look, have them sprayed with clear enamelIf you decide to repaint them, have them sprayed after-wards with clear enamel also.
