whats the best way to transport a PCI card if you dont have any anti-static bags?
Use aluminum foilBefore the plastic anti-static bag became common place, sensitive CMOS and NMOS devices were sold wrapped in thin aluminum foilThe worst thing you can do is to wrap in normal plastic or paperThose materials will rub against each other and with the PCI card and generate static electricityBecause it is non-conductive, it has no where else to go but build upOne caviat is, if you decide to wrap it in aluminum foil, make sure there is NO BATTERY of any kind on the PCI boardIf so, anti-static bag is the only way to goYes, today's devices are more resiliant than the older onesBut, given enough buildup, static energy can kill the circuit.
