Question:

When copper and lead are used as electrodes, what would happen at the copper electrode.?

copper and lead ions in solution

Answer:

When copper electrodes are used in a solution containing copper ions then at the negative electrode (cathode) copper ions would receive electrons and coat the electrode. So, copper cathode would grow larger. The positive electrode (anode) would dissolve and form ions in the solution. So, the copper anode would become thinner. And after few minutes you would have to replace the electrodes. same thing appiles to the lead electrodes.
