Question:

when frying foods, what do you do with your used cooking oil? i was told not to pour it down the sink because?

it clogs up the drainso what do you do with it?

Answer:

Are you watching to cover the pan after it is finished baking for storage purposes or are you watching to line the pan earlier than baking? If for storage purposes - sure aluminum foil and even plastic wrap could be a good alternativeIf to line the pan (which I've under no circumstances heard of when baking a cake) just grease the pan with butter or shortening insteadThe aluminum could want to stick to your cake.
aluminium is not good for your health and if there is any way it would be best not to use it but most of all do not use wax paper there is a bakers paper called parchment paper that baker use and you can buy in the store or on-line and that is best if the substance is not too liquid I like it a lot and it is much more healthy than Aluminium
The wax will melt for sure and that's not a good thingprobably not all that healthy yah know? Anyway, parchment paper is fineand now, Martha Stewart has a paper lining for baking that is parchment on one side and aluminum foil on the otherIt's really cool!
wax paper does not have THAT much wax on it; use to use if for baking all the time back in the day before fancy 'parchment ' paperI think you are instructed to wrap the pan with foil to keep the pan cleanDidn't cannelloni's get made before aluminum foil was invented too? I bet neither is necessaryMany modern recipes have all kinds of nonsense added to make ease of clean up afterward that are just a pain in the aand add expenseI looked up cannelloni recipes and about half wrapped the pan in foil and the other half didn'tIt is clearly not necessary.
Either use an old coffee can or veggie canYou can cut a milk container in half and use thatIn a pinch, I have lined a bowl with aluminum foil, poured the cooled oil into it.and later, picked up the foil corners and folded it into itself, and tossedNever toss out HOT oil.ALWAYS let it coolDo not pour it directly into your trash can.it will enevitably leak! NEVER put it down the drain or disposal (It WILL clog !)Never re-use oil that has not been refridgerated.(I had a friend who made a bunch of us sick, because she re-used the oil in a FryDaddy, that she had let sit for DAYS unrefridgerated!.).
