This morning an electritian came round to test electricity and i presume turned it all off to do so. This evening the heating didnt come on as it should so checked the boiler and its off. Not sure if the actual boiler has broken down or if its possible that the electritian turned off a switch which it operates from!?There is a switch in the boiler cardboard but its on so not sure if theyve done something with the mains or is it just coicidence that the boiler could have gone this eve.Help!
in case you fairly desire to correctly known ...turn a easy off and take the bulb out an verify it with a circuit meter. i think of you will locate out that there is not any electric powered flow on the criteria of touch for the sunshine bulb. Which demonstrates the info that there is not any electrical energy used while the sunshine is switched off.
It's hard to know what the electrician might have done, because I'm not sure why he was testing your electricity, or what he was testing. Generally, an electrician will cut power at the circuit breaker or fuse box, rather than turn off individual appliances. But, with an item as large as a boiler, it is possible that he turned it off. I would first check your circuit breaker or fuse box and determine that the circuit for your boiler is on (or make sure the fuse isn't blown). If that all looks o.k., I would try to determine (safely) where the wiring for the boiler comes from, and plug a lamp into a receptacle as close to that wiring as possible (this is far from foolproof, but I am assuming that you don't have a meter to test circuits with, so it's probably your best bet). You might also call the electrician and ask about the non-operational boiler.
