I looked at reviews of Intel Core i7 2600K and i liked it. It had excellent performance and overclocking features. So I decided to buy it. But when I saw its price it was 330$ MRP and could be sold in shops for a little over 300$. I will buy it only by mid April to the beginning of May. I saw that the AMDs bulldozer was coming April 11th. So intel may have to announce a price cut. So I would like to know upto how much level will the price of this processor would drop and upto which level? Thank you in advance.
It won't drop a lot till intel releases more powerful cpus i mean bulldozer does look nice but intels been king of the hill in the performance market for a while now and amd is nowhere near. The 2600k will likely stay at the same price for a while and intel will likely delay release of their new offering for a a little because the recent chipset issue will slow sales of sandy bridge cpus till march some time so retailers will need time to clear their existing stock. Overclocked the 2600k can compete with the 980x in a lot of scenarios so imo it's an amazing offering for the price and tbh even with the recall i wish i had have waited another couple of months and got that rather than my i7-875k. I'd expect maybe at best a drop to around $250ish by may.
Don't buy it or buy a motherboard with an intel p67 chipset, Havent you read the news ? Intel's new motherboards are defective so wait for a fix
Not any time soon. The thing just came out. Keep in mind Intel hasn't released their new high end LGA 2011 CPUs yet.
Well, this is Intel's newest cpu, just released in January...don't expect the price to drop for at least 6 months to a year.
